My name is Mathies Brinkmann Jespersen, I’m 25 years old and currently enjoying life in Aalborg, Denmark, together with my girlfriend, Sara, and our dog, Charlie.
galimathies.dk is my main online portfolio and I use it to display stuff I’ve worked on and all the other stuff I find inspiration in along the way. It’s a big digital melting pot that every once in a while take weird shapes and sizes, but most importantly it’s supposed to tell you more about me.
I’ve lived in Aalborg all my life; and adore all aspects of the city. I love travelling and explore unknown corners of the world, but I also love returning to Aalborg and my small apartment, from where I constantly work on a lot of different projects. I’m fortunate enough to work with the three things that interest and inspire me the most: web, photography and writing. In August 2010, I finished my university studies at Aalborg University and graduated as an Information Architect (MSc :: cand.it). After my graduation, I’ve attended an additional study programme at uni that offers courses on business development and entrepreneurship.
During the Spring of 2011 I was employed at Huset as a conscientious objector. I worked in a workshop for media productions and helped people on a daily basis with various tasks. I also did a lot of photography printing and improved my skills in producing big format prints.
Throughout the last couple of years, I’ve grown quite fond of the concept of micro-managing projects from the early stages of conceptualisation and all the way through to development:
I run the translation and communication agency Beg Your Pardon? together with my girlfriend, who is very much into language studies as well, and we’ve kept the company going since the summer of 2008.
In 2009, I initiated a website called What’s Aalborg? This site contains a lot of information in English about Aalborg primarily targeted towards the international students at Aalborg University. I maintain this website, update the blog and calendar together with several other people, who all try to do as much as time allows them to.
Read more about these ventures and a couple of more in the projects section of this site.
When I’m not in front of a computer, I like to be behind the camera. I enjoy taking photos and use galimathies.dk as a portfolio to show off some of my work. I do reviews, shoot photos, post competitions, and write news of almost anything culture-related for a local website called nitusind.nu.
I enjoy settling down at home listening to a lot of music. I’m not good with any kind of musical instrument, but I do know the basic chords on piano and guitar, and tend to annoy my girlfriend by singing along to stupid TV commercials.
Whenever I can, I try to stay in touch with old friends and colleagues, and I enjoy small-talking with and lending money to people I don’t really know for a good cause. If you’ve got something exciting to show me, I might bookmark it.
You can use the links and information in the footer, or fill out the contact formular, to get in touch with me. I’d love to hear from you!
