Cirque de Musique

On Monday I had my first showing of the photo series I’ve created and programmed to run during a performance by a group of young and talented classical musicians at Musikhuset in Aarhus. Tonight, they will perform the same concert at Nordkraft in Aalborg and I’ll be there adding my visual layer to their performance once again.
The concert is Le Carnaval des Animaux – or just Carnival of the Animals – by Camille Saint-Saëns. The 14 movements portray specific animals or species and is a very pedagogical musical suite. My photos accompany the movements in both an interpretative sense and as an additional visual and colourful layer.

Not the best of photos, but I wanted to show off the backdrop visuals I’ve made for the Klub Husfred concerts. Well, I got to be honest, the video was quickly made from various old American documentaries and commercials from the 1920s and 30s. For Klub Husfred I wanted to make something that could last for a long time (3-4 hours) without just looping some kind of sequence over and over. I came up with this vintage video material idea, as I think they supplement Klub Husfred mood and theme pretty well.
