So the story goes: Njal proposed to Elin at a Band of Horses show in Oslo earlier this year. When the Bride and Groom heard that Band of Horses was to play at a festival in Tromsø on the same day of their wedding, they contacted the band and told them their story. With all the coincidences surrounding the wedding, the band decided to surprise the couple. Having not heard from the band at all and accepted that the opportunity passed, Band of Horses showed up minutes after landing in Tromsø to play Marry Song at the ceremony.

Now isn’t that something to tell your grandchildren?

I saw Band of Horses at Roskilde Festival a couple of years ago, and their performance left me with the impression that these guys genuinely enjoy making other people happy with their music. And just when you thought they couldn’t get any cooler, they pull this stunt.

I helped out my girlfriend and her university project group with the production of a stop-motion movie a couple of weeks ago. Shot and edited in only a couple of days, I think the result turned out really great and tells a great little story. Enjoy the final result.

Wintery Wonderfulness

I rarely post stuff here on galimathies other than my own work, but ever since I saw this video over at Kitsune Noir the other day it has been stuck in my mind. Aesthetically, this two-minute video is a work of art and the wintery vibe is so calming and cool! The guy who shot the video, Stebs Schinnerer, did the whole thing (with editing!) in only three hours, which just makes the whole thing even more amazing.
